upgrading a laptop

Hi everyone. I was hoping if someone can confirm that may laptop can be upgraded with a better prosser and ram.
My laptop is a Sony vaio e serise laptop from 2012.
Model number: sve14a15fdh

I already have a 640 gb hdd in there already so I wouldn't really want to go lower than 640 gb.

That's really up to you which way you want to go with it, for me I don't usually buy a hard drive larger than I will use but to each their own.

I used 85% of the hdd so ill just wait until the hdd starts showing signs of slowing down then I might upgrade to a ssd.

But how many times can a ssd crash. That's one that happens a lot right?

SSD's don't crash. But when they do, they die. Typically after years usage, or within months if you happend to get a bad product. SSD's are way faster than a HDD; but you also need the SATA connector for it to show that improvement in speed also.

Yeah I never seen an SSD crash and so far none of them I have had died. But I really think that upgrading to an SSD will do a whole lot more for your laptop than going from an i5 to an i7 or 6gb of RAM to 8 and I would think most people would agree its the best upgrade you can do for increasing speed.

Yeah I'm prob gona do it late December or summer. I'm a college student who does countless amount of desgin work on the computer so I don't want to ruin my laptop incase I mess up.

A tip, make back ups. When I went to school, if we didn't make backups, we failed the class if work wasn't handed in, in time. It's also a good thing to just do on a weekly basis, if your hard drive fails, which can happen by just leaning on it wrong, everything will be erased, and will not be able to recover the data.

Yeah I know I already had to do that to a external drive hdd
