Hi,
I'd like to upgrade an Alienware X51 R3 (end 2015) CPU from Core i7-6700K (stock) with Liquid Cooling to i9-9900K ?
Is someone already did it ?
Is the BIOS will support it ?
Power
Apparently the new CPU will consumer 30W more than the previous one but it should be OK
as I don't have a graphic card in the X51 main chassis as I'm using a graphic amplifier with its own Power supply for the graphic card.
Temperature
Do you think the current liquid cooling system will be good enough to manage the heat of the new processor ?
Do I also need to upgrade the current memory with is using DDR4 2133MHz ?
does it worth it ? is the motherboard / BIOS will be compatible with a higher speed memory ?
[I already upgraded the hard disk (SSD) and the graphic cards]
Thank you for your advice and return of experience.
Best Regards,
John
