Upgrading an iBuyPower PC

I bought an iBuyPower PC this summer and I wanted to upgrade it so it can run games like Fallout 4 at decent frames.
My Specs are :
AMD FX-Series FX-6300 (3.50 GHz)
8 GB DDR3 500 GB HDD
Windows 8.1 64Bit
AMD Radeon R7 250 2GB

I was looking to buy new parts this holiday season. What is the possible/best way to upgrade with what I have? Thanks

If you can afford it I would suggest a gtx 970 as an upgrade. The only parts I suggest upgrading is the graphics card and maybe a bigger hdd if you think you need more space to store bigger upcoming titles.

An FX-6300 and a gtx 970 would work? I also don't play in 1080p now so that would probably be something good to get too?

Yes a fx 6300 and a gtx 970 will work. If you don't play in 1080p then I suggest suggest something like the gtx 960. If you plan on gaming at 1080p in the future than the gtx 970 is the clear choice for the build. What wattage does your psu supply?

I feel that the GTX 970 would be a bottleneck lol so idk if your serious. To get those video cards I would have to upgrade the power supply also.

If you need to get a new power supply I suggest looking at the tier list if you already haven't: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html

I highly doubt that the gtx 960 would be bottle necked by the older fx 6300 however, the gtx 970 may be slightly bottle necked by it. Sadly their is not really any worth while upgrades for your cpu as the am3+ socket is dead.
