Currently have an Intel Core i7-7700, thinking of upgrading, whats the most optimal CPU for a PRIME Z270-AR in 2020?

GIGABYTE RTX 2070 Super WindForce 3 OC
DDR4-2400 32GB RAM

you cant get higher than 7700k with that mobo.

7700k overclocked to (the best CPU for your motherboard) 5Ghz is a potent gaming CPU in 2020. The problem is, it commands $300+ on the used market. What kind of CPU cooling do you have? Can you sell your CPU and score a 7700k for a $100 difference? I would not spend more. If you are going to upgrade, replace that DDR4-2400 ram.
