Upgrading CPU (LGA 1155)

Hey everyone,

I currently have an i5 3470. I also have 16gb of DDR3 ram, and a gtx 980.

After getting my rift, I see my CPU is a big bottleneck. I haven't really upgraded the mobo in awhile, etc.

Question is:

What is the most cost effective way to increase my CPU? Getting an i7 3770K? I found a few on Ebay for under $300. Or would it be better to upgrade everything, go to DDR4, getting new CPU, getting new mobo.

Is it worth going from i5 3470 to an i7 3770k ($300 on ebay)? (2500k)?

Yes, it is probably worth the jump, although sky lake is basically haswell with more expensive ram, it will prob have Moore future support

get the 3770k and oc it, there is not much difference in that and skylake i7. 300 for processor or 500-600 bucks for a system, its your call
