I did another thread but it was very vague and i want to make one so i make sure i can get my stuff done. I have a 2200g processor with a b450 asrock steel legend. I have a gtx 1070. I plan to upgrade to a 3700x, but i am not sure how to update bios, or how to tell if i need to. Sorry if I am opening too many threads on this topic (i think this is the second) but i wanted to get all the info out there so i can see what i need to do. thanks

Get into your BIOS and check the version (Or use a tool like CPU-Z to check the version from Windows)

Compare it to this chart: https://www.asrock.com/MB/AMD/B450 Steel Legend/index.asp#CPU

If you aren't at P2.30 or higher, then you need to flash the BIOS. Files and how to included below.

2200G is Pinnacle Ridge, so despite their warning, you can use the CPU to flash the BIOS, they are just saying that if you are intending to use an older CPU, don't update. Since you are using a newer CPU, it is necessary.
