[SOLVED] Upgrading CPU

Hi Tom's Hardware, I am using a Dell Vostro 1510 laptop. Currently I am in a thought of upgrading it's CPU. The stock CPU is Core Duo T5670 can I upgrade it with Core 2 Extreme X9100. Both being P socket processors.

You'll need to check bios support--that's the main thing, even if sockets and chipsets say it will be supported. And additional consideration in laptops is proper cooling. I would NOT try to use a processor designed for a higher tdp than the installed cooling is rated for.
