Upgrading Current PC

So I have a r9 380 4gb and an i3 6100. I want to upgrade but can only buy one part in august and one part in december. So what do I get first? An i5 6600k or a gtx 1070. I dont play many fps games just fyi

i think the more important question is which, if any, do you want to upgrade first?
you said that you don't play many fps games, so what do you use the pc mainly for?
do you currently see a bottleneck with the gpu? or with the cpu?

I use for gaming. but I play more story driven games not multiplayer. Game Debate website says that my cpu is the bottleneck. But it also says that my cpu will cause me to run at low settings which i dont

The ole upgradeitis infection. If your machine does everything you want why spend money? Just because that site sez something it doesn't mean it is true.

I mean I just want a locked 60 fps. I sometimes dont get that with my set up.

never mind what anyone says, are you experiencing a bottleneck?
do you want more performance coming from your system?

Yeah I do but im not sure what would give me more of a boost.

while running a game (or whatever it is you're experiencing a bottleneck with) and open up task manager and msi afterburner and leave them running in the background.
then, when experience a performance snag, or after about 10 minutes of gameplay, alt+tab out of the game and look at the cpu usage in task manager (under the performance tab) and the gpu usage in afterburner.
