The E Beast: emachines et1331g-07w

What I need..

1. Want to add 2x 2gb memory sticks. Need to know wth is in it..all it says is kingston 2gb..and if I have to match that? Or can I go even cheaper.

2. A really cheap wifi card..bluetooth would be awesome but not needed.

3. I need to know if a better cpu is even possible..its a pretty clunky processor.. Amd athlon II x2 I think..like 1.6 ghz? Lol.. If I cant its no big deal. The power supply says 300w max 80+ bronze.

Is there any other parts I can upgrade wothout going TOO crazy? Or is this pretty much it? Its a friend of mines.

Any help is surely appreciated! Thanks ahead of time! Love these forums and ppl! 😀

Ok..put one ram in 1st slot..1 in 2nd..2gb ea. The pc posts lol..

I tried all four to get 8gb..nothing.. Tried all kinds of combinations.. 1st and 3rd slots have ram..it posts..if anymore.. It wont

Ok, like I said earlier, emachines used the cheapest components they could source for their systems. The memory modules are clearly not defective, but I bet there's enough difference in the two groups that the mobo is flummoxed(best term I could come up with to describe absolute failure) by them.
You can't even get into the bios with them all installed? If you could get into the bios, you could set up looser timings(if that's possible with that bios) and probably get the system to run again. Heck, you could try to set up looser timings with the just the 2 memory modules in 1 and 3, then save the bios settings and try all 4 again. I'd start with voltage myself and then move to cas timings.
What happens with the new cpu and just 2 dimms?

ur motherboard am2 socket cant use all the features and power of a 4core amd cpu
u need am2µ+ or am3 mb to run it good.
aldo the ram sticks has nothing to do with the cpu...its all about the motherboard an its max supported ram.
well about ur old cpu the mb changed the settings to boot ur new cpu
so u have to boot ur old one like 4 times till it changes the settings to run it.
if u want a new mb i got u alot of choices.

U know.. I have another pc in the garage that has a ddr2 mb..i dont know what it is tho lol.. When i get off work..ill go check that one out and see if it would be a better fit for this setup or not.

Ok.. So..should i focus on the original cpu with 8gb ram or the new one with 4gb?

1. 1.6 ghz amd II x2 w/ 8gb ddr2 ram
Or
2. 3 ghz amd II x4 w/4gb ddr2 ram

Which one should I go with?
