Upgrading from a Radeon HD 5870

Hi all, i'm new to this forum so i hope i posted this in the right sub-forum etc.

I'd like to upgrade from my dual ATI Radeon HD-5870's, i can see certain games lagging already (I suspect 1GB VRAM is not enough anymore) and i don't want to wait untill this card has zero value. So my question is, does anyone have a recommendation for a new GPU('s)? My price range is 250€ for a single GPU and about 400€ for a CrossfireX/SLI setup. Any help is much obliged!

he says he got 400€ budget lol what are you talking about... 550ti is an old gpu and it wont boost the performance enough.

go for amd 7870xt or gtx670 they are about 150-200€ each and you can go for sli/xfire perfectly

i believe you really have no idea about the graphics cards lol.... are you actually trying to compare a 660ti with a Titan ?

It uses Tahiti cores instead of Pitcairn for an extra performance boost, if you can find one where you are.

indeed, i was also talking about the tahiti board which is marked as 7870xt (le), that board is recently revised, not the reference 7870 which is an older version.

According to TH, Tahiti based is actually worse?

benchmarks show that tahiti based 7870's are actually solid with a better performance, as far as i understand the thread is talking about handicapped/defective boards, probably untested batches or smth...

you may want to get the board from a reputable manufacturer thinking you may pay 10-15$ more... sapphire ones are told to be good...

didnt really see a comparison between the 2 options but it is most likely to perform better than a single gtx680, but also effective? i dont think so; power/heat/space etc...
