I need the opinion of people far more qualified than me. I have the i7-4790k. With the new 5th generation CPU's coming out, is it worth me upgrading, or should I hold off for now, seeing what comes in the future?

5th gen? Which ones are those? x99? But your cpu right now is already the highest for non x99.

Considering these two (broadwell and skylake) basically dropped on each other's laps for desktop use, I wouldn't consider the generation gap to be the same as previous generations. Even then, only upgrading a generation or two won't be much of an upgrade. I'd save my money if it were me, just my .02 worth.
