I am using R5 3600, Msi B450 Tomahwak Max, 32 GB (4*8) DDR4 3200 Z Skill Trident Z, Sapphire Nitro Plus RX 5700XT and Corsair RMX 650 Gold. My monitor is 1440p 144hz. I am a casual gamer. I play variety of SP and MP game including AAA title. 60 fps at 1440p is a bare minimum for me with mid high setting. I am getting poor frame rate nowadays. And I am asking for advice. I intend to upgrade to Rtx 4060ti 16 GB version or RX 7700xt? (or equivalent amd card) in near future. My question is will the new gpu bottleneck my cpu much at 1440p? I could upgrade to a R7 5700X or 5800X. Would that be necessary and optimal? Or I wait a few months, save some money and totally buy everything new; current gen amd or intel cpu, ddr 5 ram and mobo, gpu and such. Which will be good? Upgrading current system in 2/3 months or wait until the end of the year for a full pc upgrade. I'm from a remote Asian country, many stuffs are not available here and most are overpriced. So you shouldn't give me Newegg or amazon link or discounted sale. Thanks.

In your situation, I would upgrade the GPU. Monitor your GPU usage in your favorite games. Then gauge your CPU upgrade on that. You will likely benefit from a CPU upgrade along with the GPU.

I upgraded to an RX 6800 XT for 1440p gaming paired with a Ryzen 7 3700X. I decided to upgrade the CPU because there were a few online games in which GPU utilization would drop when CPU intensive things were happening. Was it terrible? No. Was it absolutely necessary? No. Did I benefit from a CPU upgrade? Yes.
