[SOLVED] Upgrading gpu is it safe to use 6 to 8pin adapter for power?

Hi everyone!
I just purchased asus o6g gtx 1660s to change my sapphire amd hd7850 but it used a 6 pin connector as supply but my new gpu needs an 8 pin connector. Is it safe to use a 6to8 pin adapter?
my supply unit is integrated in my case and its model is: Cooler Master RS-500-PCAP-I3 500W

No it's not safe and that PSU is very poor quality.

NO. Those power adapters can be fire hazards. Don't use.

If your PSU lacks the proper connections for your GPU, you need a new PSU.

Guys what do you think I should buy as a new psu? (Considering also the future years). I might also buy a new case would you recommend coolermaster or should I go for another? (My options are rampage,xigmatek, corsair and cooler master)

Of those, Corsair. On a budget, the CX series are ok. Make sure they are grey labels, not green. There are some others that are better though. Avoid their VS series however.

Nope. As said above, a grey label Corsair CX is where you want to be with your budget. None of the others you mentioned are any good.
