Upgrading GPU -- Will my CPU bottleneck it greatly?

Hello,

I’m about to score a GTX 980 from a friend who just made the 1080 jump.
I want to have it, but am concerned about bottlenecking it with my 2014 build. I’m currently running with an AMD 8350FX, with a GTX 770 2GB SC. My 770 is surely showing its age. I like playing Rust, and some other online shooting games, and my graphics settings must be lowered dramatically to be able to play effectively.

My main two parts I’m worried about are my CPU and my Mobo. AMD 8350FX has been great to me with the 770, but I’m still concerned.

I would greatly appreciate any advice on if my CPU will bottleneck the 980 severely, if at all. I would also greatly appreciate any advice on what to upgrade to keep my PC more "equality sound", and if a CPU/MOBO upgrade is necessary at this time.

Thank you for all the help. If you need any more info, or I missed something, please let me know. Thanks!

tl;dr = Will AMD 8350FX or my other parts bottleneck GTX 980?

Solution
A bit, but it doesn't matter. The GPU is still much faster so you will have gains in terms of potential settings. And when your CPU has no trouble with a game engine, the GPU will run to its potential.
