Haha dude I'm looking for a GT240 for my new low power build - which model have you got?
I might be interested if you're selling.

YAY!! - this is the reason why i recommend single cards to peeps if a single card will do the trick, even if it isn't the fastest option,, my suggestion usually gets booted just because it isn't the fastest

i would say stay with your 240 for a bit longer, it really is a descent card, you will need to spend quite a bit of money to upgrade to anything bigger and you don't have that much to spend,,
when your ready, make your move,, will need to be something like a 460 or bigger + PSU
240 won't play everything maxxed out, but will be acceptable quality if toned down to say medium settings with AA off

agreed. micro-stuttering might not sound important, but its a nuissence when you framerate drops from 120 all the way down to 60. can be very frustrating. save up for a better psu, then upgrade to a 460, or even a 480 (very nice gpu!).

requirement for the 240 you have is:
Minimum 350W or greater system power supply (with a minimum 12V current rating of 18A)

requirement for a 550ti is:
Minimum 400W or greater system power supply (with a minimum 12V current rating of 24A - its possible it MAY work, but I wouldn't jump on it

requirement for a 460 GTX SE 1GB is:
Minimum of a 450 Watt power supply. (Minimum recommended power supply with +12 Volt current rating of 24 Amps)

+1 to the 550ti Malmental has a good recommendation there

OP: get what you can afford/run so maybe a psu swap is not in the cards for this refresh, but at least you'll have something decent in the 550ti

isn't the gtx480 a double gpu? i thought the 570 was only a single. if so, is the 570 still better? sorry, i thought otherwise, and didnt mean to give innaccurate info.

570 hands down over the 480, like mal said unless it can be found for significantly less than the 570... the 480 is obviously not a double chip, maybe your thinking of the gtx 295? or 590? Don't quit your day job :)

good god Mal, are you just here to put everyone else down,,you seem to hardly ever to agree with anyone,, you've directly tried to 'educate' me several times,, i think that's enough of that crap - i know what the f i'm talking about

I'm just trying to save this guy some money and do his system the right way,, he'll be 100x happier to get a psu for now and buy a new BIGGER card 2-4 months from now,, a 240 is still a somewhat decent card that can give someone alot of enjoyment.. yo

i must have seen something else. oh well. the 480 though is at least $30 cheaper though, but the 570 takes less power consuption if im correct? still expensive in my mind going for $285.

if you got a money burning a hole in your pocket and you MUST have some kind of upgrade,, a 550 is your only option without the PSU,, but IMO I would not.

or maybe i made a mistake...dont be rude. its a forum, and not everyone is an "expert". I'm not a total newb when it comes to this stuff, but with 100's of products out there, im sorry i made a mistake. ill try to be perfect next time!

Im not really planning to buy new PSU. But i'll go for the 550ti and later on the future i'll think on buying a PSU and an even better GPU.

Thanks for the Help guys! :)

If anyone has other suggestions please let me know.
