Hi there,

I have been using my Lenovo Legion Y520-15lKBM for 2 years without any problem. But currently, I am facing free space issues, and that my RAM modules got about 2000 bad sectors last time I checked.

So, need to upgrade my SSD to 1TB and my RAM to 32GB but I have no idea what models are compatible with this laptop.

My current specs(Lenovo Legion Y520-15lkBM)

These are all as I bought this laptop and I have not configured it yet.

16 GB RAM ( 2* 8GB)

Gtx 1060 Max-Q design

Intel Core i7-7700HQ @ 2.80GHz

Motherboard: Model LNVNB161216

120GB SSD SAMSUNG

1TB HDD SEAGATE(SATA)

I only want to upgrade My SSD and RAMs.

What I have in mind right now is :

SSD : Samsung EVO 970 NVMe M.2 1 TB SSD

RAM: No idea

Please give me a couple of options for RAM since my budget is limited.

(1TB SSD is a must for me)

Thank you in advance for any given help :)

Right now and for a couple of months, Turkey

I was thinking "Kingston 16Gb 2400Mhz Ddr4 Cl14 Sodımm Hx424S14Ib/16" * 2
so it would be 32GB .
My question is , is this RAM compatible with my laptop and is it a good option?

My question is , is this RAM compatible with my laptop.................

I can't say with 100% certainty.

Buying from an established and reputable memory supplier would be a good choice because the modules come with a compatibility guarantee. Global company Crucial would have been my first choice for you but unfortunately they're out of stock in your region.

UK-based "Mr Memory" is a good company that I've used many times. Shipping costs to Turkey will be €11.42. Here's the link for your laptop model. You have the choice between generic RAM or Kingston HyperX.

By the way, for the average user, 16GB of RAM is usually more than plenty so are you sure that you need 32GB? Adding more RAM than you need won't make your laptop any faster and could be a waste of money. If you decide on 16GB then make sure you buy two 8GB modules to enable dual-channel mode for extra performance.
