Hello all, so here is my situation.

Last year I bought a Dell Inspirson 3000 series from the store and have upgraded a few things since including swapping everything into a new case. Here is what I have now.

i5 4440 3.1ghz
MSI Geforce GTX 760
8GB Kingston DDR3 Ram
Seasonic 550W PSU

Long story short Dell doesn't seem to appreciate the fact that I've gutted their factory PC and customized it to my liking. Something in the Dell chipset hates my GPU and I've went through royal hell for over a year trying to figure it out, including posting on here. I've had to jerry rig the old on/off switch from my old Dell case to make it work in the new case since it wouldn't power on using the new cases own on/off switch. Had to disable sleep and hibernation mode and disable all of the apps and whatnot to get the GPU to work.

So since my PC is already basically custom anyway Im going to go ahead and swap the motherboard out and install Windows on a SSD and be done with Dell and their headaches.

So I need a new motherboard and an SSD. I don't know very much about them and even after researching I still don't really understand why this one costs $80 and this one costs $500 etc.

I plan on keeping all of the parts listed above for awhile because they seem to be just fine for the near future. I'll probably get a new GPU soon thats about it. So for now I'd like to just upgrade the motherboard unless someone has a suggestion on a MB CPU combo that would actually have a noticeable increase in performance for the price. Money isn't an issue but saying that all I do is game on here every once and awhile so I'm not looking for a super expensive motherboard with a bunch of extra features that Ill never need.

Thanks all.

What is your budget?

About ssd worry: Some cost $80 because they have low capacity, low speeds, no or small time guarantee, are not from reputable company. And some cost $500 because they have higher capacities, higher speeds, longer guarantee and are from a reputable company.

If you are happy with your performance go with http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132118&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

What kind of budget do you have? There are cheaper boards of course

is a good board

as for SSD's yes they are expensive and there is low end and high end. I would recommend Samsung for the brand.

Thanks all for the quick responses.

My budget is around $500. I don't really want to spend $500 on a motherboard full of features that I will never use or need though. As for now I am pretty content with my PC's performance. In the future I'm sure I'll upgrade to keep up with the times but for now I'm fine.

I mainly just want to swap out the motherboard so I can use all of the features of my computer. I'm sure in the future I will be upgrading to keep up with the times so I'd like a motherboard that will support future upgrades such as an i7 processor (when they become necessary for gaming) and possibly SLI.

I apologize for the confusion, when I said I was confused about prices I was talking more about motherboards than the SSD's. I see motherboards costing anywhere from $50 to $500. I can understand the price difference from a cheap brand to a known brand but I don't quite understand why some of known brands are $140 and others are $450.

Probably a newbie question but I was sort of under the impression that gaming "power" mainly comes from the CPU and GPU combo and having enough decent RAM. That's sort of why I bought the store bought PC with the decent CPU in the first place with the plans to just pop in a decent GPU and be done (shows how well that worked out...lol). So why do people buy $500 motherboards?
