Question Upgrading my am3 spec to am4, how can I continue to use the current am3 cooler?

I am getting a 3600+b450m Motherboard. I am using a Cooler Master TX3 cooler on the old amd 1055t. That is a pretty old cooler. You can't even buy it now. But I want to use it on my ryzen 3600. However, the socket won't fit since it is am4 and I can't seem to find a separate am4 kit to purchase. The Cooler Master TX3 cooler has to be stabilized on the motherboard by putting 4 screws on each side. Is any ways to fix this issue instead of buying a new cooler? Thank you very much.

You need to contact Cool Master and get the upgrade kit for it. The TX3 is sold now with AM4 compatibility so kits are available.

If I live in N.A, that will do. But I live in Hong Kong. I worry that they won't ship to Hong Kong or even if they do, it will take a month to deliver. Is there any ways than contacting Cooler Master directly?

I believe they ship from Taiwan so that shouldn't be an issue, try the live chat or even the forums in your region.

I contacted cooler master HK. They said my cooler is too old and they do not have any am4 bracket in stock anymore.


I was googling solution and I found this video. Does that mean I do not need a am4 upgrade kit?

But this guy is using a exact cooler which is TX3. Why he has to DIY if the TX3 cooler is compatible with am4?

Original cooler mounts on AM4 MBs are same as for AM3, they use clamps instead of screws.

Just use the way as you would mount it on an AM3 motherboard. Use the plastic brackets that are mounted on the AM4 motherboards.
