GPU: 1024MB ATI AMD Radeon HD 5670

I'll upgrade my cpu and mobo, but my graphics card will have to wait. My choice for a cpu is an amd apu 5600k.
Will the 5600k give me better fps while saving for a new graphics card? I still have my radeon 5670.
If you have suggestions for a cpu please give, I want the price to be around $110 or pretty much within the 5600K's price range.
I want to play BF4 with good fps, I don't care if it's ultra or not as long as the multiplayer is smooth on 1600x900. I have huge fps drops on full servers especially in chaotic fights.

+1 for barto.

You really need a complete overhaul for Battlefield 4. Whilst you could play it on your current spec, it will be at the lowest settings. Even then, you'll be lucky to get 30fps.

From what I've read, you'll need an Intel quad-core or AMD hexa-core CPU with an HD 78xx or GTX660. With this, you should be able to play at your monitor's native resolution with some advanced settings turned on and maintain a smooth frame rate.

If you're switching the CPU and motherboard, have you considered going to Intel, or do you prefer AMD?

Agreed, the i3 is a good processor but it will only get you so far and you'll probably end up regretting it. The AMD is the better choice. If your budget can stretch to an i5, even if it's an older Sandy or Ivy Bridge model, then I'd recommend Intel. That said, you could overclock the FX 6300 to shorten the performance gap.
