Hey I'm looking to upgrade from my current processor, but i'm not sure what the best choice would be as i have an older desktop so older motherboard as well.. I know certain boards can only handle so much of an upgrade, so my question is what would be my best choice for an upgrade and if it would even be worth it! Here's my computer as it sits now.

Computer name: Compaq Presario PC SR5614F

MotherBoard: M2N68-LA

Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+

Memory: 4GB DDR2

Graphics Card: Geforce GTX 650

P.S trying to build into more of a gaming PC

My suggestion would be to upgrade mobo and CPU and RAM to am3+ at least so you could have a modern processor such as fx-6300 and features such as USB3,Sata6 and most importantly DDR3 RAM these will be a more noticeable but expensive upgrade than just an old CPU

That said you could get one of the phenom x4s with a 95w TDP but you'd probably have to get a used one
