Ok , so here is the thing I have i7-7700, 4gb RAM, 1 TB HDD. I was planning to do an upgrade for my home lab especially running a virtual lab and make it 16 GB ram, with 250 ssd and NVIDIA GeForce® GT 710, 2GB.
What I am thinking is will things work like I am expecting it to work by just adding this component. Because there's a doubt in my mind that though all these additions sound good the integration should be proper for things to work smoothly. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Best Regards

After looking at Lenovo's website, I found that your case only supports low- profile gpus. Your cpu has Intel HD 630 graphics which, after some quick research, seems to beat the GT 710 https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compa...ntel-HD-630-Desktop-Kaby-Lake/m77649vsm178724
If you need a graphics upgrade, make sure it is low profile. The GTX 1650 is the most powerful (Non-Quadro) card that can be found in a low-profile format, but is much more expensive than the GT 710. I have linked possible low profile cards below.

Hey Guys,

Thanks for the reply
@rgd1101 its a Lenovo V520T machine not really sure about motherboard and PSU

@SATADATA That was the card recommended by the hardware guy the one to whom I approached for the upgrade. Should I look at some other options? And moreover will I need it for my lab environment? I am planning to run vmware esxi or hyper-v , either one of these.

GT 1030: https://www.amazon.com/MSI-GT-1030-...1&keywords=gt+1030&qid=1588088146&sr=8-3&th=1

The 1030 holds a MASSIVE lead over the 710 that you were recommended. The 1050 ti holds a significant lead over the 1030, and the 1650 holds a significant lead over the 1050 ti. I do not know about your workload specifically, but in overall performance I recommend these ^. If you are not doing GPU intensive things like gaming, 3d design, rendering, ect then I would recommend sticking with your current graphics. I think that the RAM and ssd upgrades are a good idea. I need a little more info about the board and power supply to confirm these recommendations. Maybe just pull off a side panel and take a picture and send it. I am however, fairly sure that these upgrades will work just fine.
