Hello.
As the title says, right now i want to upgrade/replace my storage drive since the one i own is dying.
i already have an SSD for system so buying a 1Tb SSD is too expensive while 500GB SSDs are still a bit pricey in my country, while i have done some research into both HDD and SSHD, im still not quite sure about which one is more worth it for price/performance ratio.

2TB HDDs are about the same price as 1TB SSHDs here[$80-ish], do you think its worth to sacrifice the size for the hybrid? fyi i do mostly programming/gaming.
Please help!

The limited amount of flash space on sshd's is not worth it as a storage drive. If it was an os drive then it's 'ssd' portion would make sense caching frequently used programs. Not that you would use an sshd for the os obviously because you have an ssd. Just elaborating how sshd's work.

i mean it's not worth it because you can, for example, put like 120 gb ssd in pc just to have that speed and that's it

It’s not really worth it tbh. Would either go all SSD (which I have) or just get a massive HDD for files

Since you already use solid state for the OS, then get the larger HDD for the storage drive
An SSHD can be OK in some use cases. This is not one of those.
from all the answers, its obvious im going to buy an HDD, but im kinda curious in what case does using SSHD make sense?
