Hello guys.

I am upgrading my very old PC so i am buying new parts. My question is, do i need to buy new PSU or the old one will do ?

I have a Thermal Master TM-450-PSAP-F1 450w PSU.
My old motherboard is an Asus P8B75-M LX

My new parts are:
Motherboard: ASUS TUF GAMING B660M-PLUS WIFI
CPU: Intel i5 12400F
RAM: Kingston 16GB 6000MHz DDR5 CL32 DIMM
GPU: Nvidia GTX 1050-ti

I don't know if the cables of the old PSU will fit for the new motherboard or the motherboard comes with cables?
I have never upgraded a PC so i want to know do i need to buy new PSU ?

Thank you.

Depends on your budget and if you intend to upgrade graphics card any time later.

For GTX 1050ti - a good quality 350W PSU minimum.
Your current PSU can barely manage 240W on 12V rail.
Okay, I'll get any PSU over 600W so i can upgrade my graphics card at any time.
Thanks.

600W will be enough if you buy something like the RTX 4060.
For RTX 4070 Ti super or better, you want 750W or more.

Search online for power supply calculators. You can fill in all the details of your pc and get suggestions on how much power you'll need.

Not "any" PSU. It's most important that it's *quality*. If you're going to upgrade 600W may be a *necessary* thing, but it's not sufficient by itself. People can give you recommendations if you have a budget and country for the PSU.

Thank you guys. I have found this PSUs on my budget. Can you help me which one to choose?

650W Seasonic B12-BC or
Cooler Master MWE 750W BRONZE - V2 230V or
750W Deepcool PF750

None of these are particularly good. If you get one of these, keep in mind that if you do eventually upgrade your GTX 1050 Ti, it'll be prudent for you to upgrade your PSU again at that time.

The 230V version of the Bronze MWE V2 version is Tier C. Only the full range one is Tier B.
I didn't read the fine print. You are right.

Dac228, on that budget Cooler master does not seem to have many super dependable units. Seasonic might.

Maybe the Seasonic Core GX 650 is the best choice. Or Core GM 650 (semi-modular). They're reasonable, offer 7 years of warranty, and the price isn't huge.
It would be better to spend a little more money and buy a Focus GX 750. Maybe even the ATX 3.0 version as it can more easily support future GPU upgrades.

I can't even find those models in my country. I guess they are expensive. All i found was for the same price Cooler Master MWE Gold 750W V2.
It's either this or Seasonic B12-BC. But the Seasonic is 650W and CoolerMaster is 750W, plus it's Gold.
