Upgrading ram help

I have 4gb ram 2x2 2gb and 1600MHz DDR3 and i now wanna upgrade and buy Kingston 8GB 1866MHz DDR3 and i have 2 free slots on my Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P, Can i upgrade it?

Most people recommend using sticks of the same speed and capacity across all ram slots for maximum performance but it should still work but their may be some speed loss.

I would suggest no, the ram would still work so you would have a total of 12GB of ram
