Question Display port or hdmi?

So recently i got a new monitor which is msi g244f e2 180hz , it comes with hdmi cable tho , the question is most of the people said that u should get a display port as hdmi doesnt give the frame rate u want or full frame rate , like i have hdmi even tho on screen it gives me 144 or 150 fps , so basically im not getting the fps on the monitor it self? Correct me if im wrong , even tho on the hdmi , feels still pretty smooth , hope u guys can help me understand more

Phew thanks for that , i was just wondering also , freesync wont work on hdmi? So basically it only works on display cable , also is freesync ( adaptive sync ) a big thing or imporovements

Page 24, basically everything is supported with both interfaces. What you described in post 1 usually is when you hit higher resolutions. For example, certain (all?) monitors can't do free/gsync above certain resolutions and frame rates unless you go DisplayPort.

Thank u so much for ur details and reply , i have just a few question or even a question just to be more convinced , so like 80% of people or atleast what i see that they just always say use dp because u might not getting the 180hz u want , even if you are getting 180 fps ...in any way dp is always better for monitors hdmi for tv and dp for color is better than hdmi etc

2 : also freesync is only supported using dp not hdmi , but searching on the internet and youtube i couldnt really get a 100% answer for it , what did it actually do ? As if i wanted to know if it will give me the best experience with freesync on and stuff

With this monitor atleast , and sorry for the questions i just like to learn more about freesync or dp cuz im pretty new , thank u so much anyway
