Could you advise me on if this is a good build for 30/40+ FPS in reasonable games (BF4, GTA5, Attilla etc...) Or if you have any better advice please let me know (Looking to spend max ~£600)

But its also an extra £50, Is the performance worth the extra?

Im more of an AMD guy than Intel

You'll have to change motherboards and yes it is worth the extra. I mean each brand has it's own pros and cons right. AMD is built for gaming but it makes lots of heat and more power usage. Intel is built for efficiency and power.

Tell me what your planning to do with the build

I'm planning to game with it on modern games such as BF4, GTA5, Total war Attila etc,

That price includes RAM and Windows, which I already have and am keeping,

What CPU wouldn't bottleneck it? (Preferably AMD FX series)

If your gonna OC a lot i recommend Intel. Because AMD you can't go far on Air and pretty soon you have to be using aftermarket coolers which cost you extra. I would say maybe Intel you can go farther on At atleast a 33% on Intel CPU's maximum Air you geta 33% speed increase. AMD you often have to OC to unlock there full potential as it is not in it's base clock. You will also be dealing with higher electric bills

So there isnt any AMD that wont bottleneck the GTX 970? Thanks for the recommendation :)

I Probably wont OC to be honest, I'll think about Intel I5s then, Thanks :)

Not really. You will see a difference in older games. But in modern multi-threaded games it is very close now. We're talking single digit FPS differences @ 1080p and 1440p.

The GPU is more important.

Also, you do not need a 990FX board unless you plan to go crossfire or SLI. Instead, get something like the Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P. I got my FX 6350 to 4.950GHz stable on this board under a H110.

Take the money you save on the MoBo and put it into a better GPU if you can.

FX 6300-6350 will be good for a single GTX 960 or 970, especially with a CPU overclock. Find and read a good guide on how to do this and you'll be good.

I happen to have a high end 970 and have tested/used it on 2 AMD systems. So I'll use it my setups an example.

My Gigabyte G1 Gaming 970, even when OCd to 1500, hits 100% in Guild Wars 2, an MMO is only using 4-5 CPU cores, well before I max my FX 8350 or 9590.

You might bottleneck on older 1-2 core games, but most titles released in the past 3-4 years are multithreaded and will be fine.

For WoW and D3 anyway, my FX 8320 @ 4.0ghz is slower than my i5 2400 @ 3.5ghz, when using the same GPU. In a WoW raid setting, the FX tends to bog down far more than my old i5. D3 the i5 experiences less slowdowns than the FX. The sad part to this, is the i5 2400 system is using my old 23" Samsung @ 2048x1152, and the FX is using my old ChiMei 22" @ 1680x1050.

Exactly you might use the AMD FX series to do some rendering because of there many cores.

Most AMD processors you have to OC to get there good performance.

Anyways i recommend if your going with Intel an Asrock Z77 Extreme4. It has 2 more USB.3.0 ports, 8+4 phase power compared to 8+3 on Asrock Z77 Extreme3, and E sata

His budget is actually 600 pounds, The problem is their listed build, other than poor hardware choices, exceeds that. That has me confused as to what the budget actually is.

As I've said before, that list includes things like RAM and Windows which I already have.

I'm getting a CPU, Cooler, GPU, MOBO, PSU and maybe a case, Which overall comes to less than £600 on that list.

My budget is around £600.

In my opinion it isn't worth the extra $$$ and the AMD FX-8320 can achieve the same speeds as the AMD FX-8350 with minimal overclocking.
