Hey guys
my i5 4690k@4.2 Ghz paired with a GTX 970 has served me quite well so far
however im beginning to face a few problems now in a few games
i guess new games are beginning to optimally utilize 8 cores or more now

at certain instances in Witcher 3
the CPU usage goes up to a full 100% and this causes a big drop in frame rate momentarily
more appropriate to call it a stutter
so is the case with other CPU intensive games like GTA 5

so will upgrading to the i7 4790k help solve this problem?
i guess it will
i guess new games are beginning to optimally utilize 8 cores or more now
need the community's opinion

i know the 6700k is more powerful
but its a different platform so ill have to upgrade my Mobo as well
not willing to incur such a cost

and also im getting back 65% of the price that i paid for the i5 4690k as resale price
doesnt seem like a bad deal

well its moslty talking about average FPS
however minimum FPS is the concern here
because thats what causes the stuttering

and you seemed to have missed this part in the article:

"But once we hit 01:12 – a tour of Novigrad City on horseback… well, then we see some big changes. This area can hit 80% utilisation across all eight threads on a Core i7 4790K! The less powerful the CPU here, the more CPU stutter you encounter."

This part directly relates to the problem
CPU stuttering is what im encountering
it says that the 4790K reaches over 80% usage on all 8 cores
the 15 reaches above 95 constantly
and the stutter occurs when any of the cores hits 100% momentarily

I dont have any other programs running in the background
and ive had no problems so far except with CPU intensive games such as WItcher 3, GTA 5 etc.
