Hey guys,

For some reason my NAS connected to my Cyberpower LE850G was off this morning. After poking around with it this morning, anything UPS protected would shut the ups off but anything surge protected would stay on means that my battery is probably dead. Searched around and the part # for the battery is RB1270B.

2 Questions, would you suggest that I replace it with a lead acid battery or put in an LiFePO4 battery instead? Is it considered safe and doesn't catch fire?

As I said, the battery's part # is RB1270b and I found this in amazon for $43 which has the dimensions of 5.88"D x 2.56"W x 3.88"H

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0DHHH3YNK/ref=ewc_pr_img_1?smid=A33N703ELCFX8U&psc=1

However, when I searched for 12v 7ah batteries with a similiar dimensions 5.94 x 2.56 x 3.7inch.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B095K38M6C/ref=ewc_pr_img_3?smid=A5E67EI059JKH&psc=1

Price is about 1/2 price of the previous one and it looks good and should I be buying this one instead? Thanks.

Your UPS didn't come with a lithium phosphate battery. It came with a standard lead acid battery. I would recommend a direct replacement.
There are pages that say AGM batteries (like in your UPS) can be replaced with LiPO batteries, I don't recommend.

Usually a UPS (or anything with a rechargeable battery) has a battery BMS (battery management system). Different chemistry batteries have different characteristics / require different BMS systems. LiFePO4 (in a 12v size) needs balancing and a compatible BMS probably has a heat/temperature sensor to adjust charging based on the temp of the battery or cells.

TLDR; Don't do it. Purchase a compatible lead acid battery. (it doesn't necessarily have to be from the vendor). Make sure the replacement is the same chemistry, dimensions, terminal locations, and AH (ampere-hour) rating.

Final note: If there is a battery shop close to where you live, you might be able to get a replacement at a comparable cost when you factor in shipping, most places also accept the old battery to be recycled.
