Hi everyone;

I was just very ignorant about type c port types and my windows laptop has usb type c gen 1 port and I didn't know what is it for and to testing, I just plug my android phone's type c cable to laptop and cable's usb head into the charger, I just though It will be charged but
I searched and gen 1 usb c doesn't support charging only up to 5gb It can send data,

just wanna ask this,

Does that process what I have done damage laptop?, because my laptop doesnt support charging from type c port and I plugged type c cable to laptop tried to charge it.

Thank you for replies.

Solution
Yes, you could have damaged it.

Should not be feeding voltage anywhere aside from the power brick port. If you didn't damage it consider yourself SUPER lucky.
