I was tempted to go AMD this gen, but I need a gpu upgrade for Wilds & am not gonna wait a month after its out.
AMD is fudging this generation for some reason and it makes no sense x_x.

Probably because they know competition w/ Nvidia is going to be quite tough, and so they want to adjust their prices relative to w/e Nvidia puts out.

I am ok with waiting for AMD due to price and not needing to break the bank but the biggest issue might just be supply (once again) 2021 was a god-awful time to get a card at a decent price. If the battlemage b580 is any indication, might be an uphill battle. Super annoying so hopefully things will work out over the next few months if not upon the first few weeks of release.

even then we already have those prices. 5070 is same price as 4070. they are only targeting the middle ground atm so the wait until late MArch is nonsense

Intel did a crafty bit of upselling on the B580. You won't get it for MSRP because the B570 neatly sits in that slot.
