US Robotics 56K modem

reformatted & reinstalled WIN98...
have drivers for modem...
WIN98 detects communication device but will not recognize drivers...driver select was not written for this device, do you want to use anyways?
Clicked ok but modem does not work

pulled modem out got numbers off modem...went to usr.com... found out that the number 662975 is an OEM 2975 modem...D/L those drivers...same results

Any suggestions???
