USB 3.0 not detecting any devices ASRock 980DE3/U3S3

I don't have any USB 3.0 periferals or devices, so I don't know if the USB ports work with USB 3.0 devices, however none of my USB 2.0 devices or periferals are detected when they are plugged into the USB 3.0 ports. This occurs with all of the ports, front and back panel. The USB 3.0 ports do supply power, because when I plug my phone into the port, it charges, but does not communicate with the PC.

I custom built my PC and have always had this problem. I use an ASRock 980DE3/U3S3 motherboard and I'm running Windows 10 (64 bit).

Legacy USB support is enabled in my BIOS, and I downloaded and installed the most recent drivers I could find for USB 3.0 from the ASRock website for my motherboard - still no difference.

Please help, this will be really useful if I can get the USB ports to work.

I used Windows 7 before moving to Windows 10. The device manager does not pick up anything, not even "unknown" devices.

Update bios with instant flash inside bios

Latest driver I could find is 1.0.0.119
Search the internet for "etron ej188 1.0.0.119"
Should be for win 8 64 bit but should run on win 10

Disconnect the USB 3 front header and try again (power off while doing)

I've now updated my BIOS with version 2.00 from http://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/980DE3U3S3/?cat=Download&os=BIOS using instant flash, and I installed the 1.0.0.119 driver, then restarted, but still no success with front or back panel USB 3.0.

I found that I had a PCI-E to USB 3.0 card, I've plugged that in and it works fine with everything. The USB 3.0 from the motherboard still doesn't work, but I now have working USB 3.0 slots.

I created this account just to share my resolution:

I had the same problem, my back panel USB ports were working, but not the front panel USB3.0 ports. I thought it was due to the bad connection of the usb3.0 cable to my MB, as I bought a new NZXT S340 case recently. I tried to reinstalled the USB3.0 driver and rebooting a few times on the official page:
http://asrock.com/mb/AMD/980DE3U3S3%20R2.0/index.us.asp?cat=Download&os=Win764

Was downloading through Asia server, and I just tried to download from the USA server and it's all working now. My USB sticks worked and lighted up right after I install the driver from the USA server.

Hopefully this would help!
