I have a Huawei E3372-325 4G USB dongle (with the latest drivers) and my problem is that it takes so long for it to connect. Every time I boot up my laptop it fails connecting the first time. And then it stops trying to connect for almost 5 minutes until it suddenly lights green and connects.

I tried several times resetting to standard settings and also uninstalled the dongle completely through "device manager" and then reinstalled it. I tried everything I can think of and nothing makes it connect faster.

So I wonder what can I do about this? Very thankful for answers.

Who is your wireless data ISP? Where are you located? How far are you from the closest tower?

Have you config the APN settings correctly?

And @bill001g might be able to help.
This is the dongle I use: https://www.maxgaming.se/sv/tradlos...&utm_id=239893&cto_pld=xLjd9CiyAABqqYtbIOXkKA

My ISP is Telenor (Sweden) and I seem to be about 23 km from the closest tower. I have not configured any APN settings at all. I don't know much about internet connection settings or anything of that sort. But I know people located close to me that use the very same 4G dongle and theirs connect almost instantly. They do however use different internet providers.
Thank you for your answer!.

I asked MS Copilot how far 4G signal can travel and got

The distance a 4G signal can travel depends on several factors, including the type of terrain, the density of buildings, and the quality of the network infrastructure. Generally, a 4G signal can cover a distance of up to 10 miles (16 kilometers) in rural areas with minimal obstructions.

So your distance probably is a bit too far.

I tried with my phone sim card and it connected instantly to the internet! With my other sim card however it still takes a lot of time... I can not come up with a reason for it being like this.

Start here:

https://www.astound.com/support/mobile/enable-disable-apn/

The actual process depends on your cell phone and carrier.

Compare the sim card APN settings. Look for differences.
I do not know how to access those settings on windows. Those links seem to only show how to access on smartphones. I did google it and it says click "Settings" > "Network and Internet" > "Cellular"... However when I go to "Network and Internet" I can not find "Cellular". I do not have it for some reason.

The first objective being to find and compare the APN settings on your cell phones via the sims.

"Slow dongle" vs "Fast dongle". Line by line....

If necessary, you can google "How to find APN configuration" along with cell phone model and service provider names.
