I understand that there is a sata one and nvme one and both different

Solution

Not Hirens...any current Imaging/Cloning tool, like Macrium Reflect.

Assuming you have another drive with sufficient free space to hold the entirety of your current m.2 drive:

1. Download and install Macrium Reflect
2. Run that, and create a Rescue CD or USB (you'll use this later). "Other Tasks"
3. In the Macrium client, create an Image to some other drive. External USB HDD, maybe. Select all partitions. This results in a file of xxxx.mrimage
4. When done, power OFF.
5. Swap the 2 drives
6. Boot...

Western digital black 1tb nvme 3d nand 3400 mb/s.
I need adapter so i can clone my old 256 ssd into this one.
But my laptop doesn't have 2 m.2 slots... So i wanna use adapter to connect the new ssd and clone on it the old one

Do you have or can borrow an external drive?
You can do this via an Image, instead of a direct clone.

We tried this today... With hiren's bootcd... But he didn't see my original ssd and after couple of hours we gave up...
So im just looking for a help to find this adapter and get this over with... Not a long way around.

7. Recover, and tell it where the Image is that you created in step 3, and which drive to apply it to...the new m.2
8. Go, and wait until it finishes.
9. That's all...this should work.

A USB NVMe adapter?
Maybe this? I have no experience with it, but it says it can work.
