free after rebate, 512 meg external usb 2.0 storage. only 10 bucks without rebate! now for my question. usb 2.0 will support usb 1.1 devices plugged into it right? ok, will a usb 2.0 device work in a usb 1.1 plug? i dont remember if it just runs at a slower speed. maybe im just stupid.

Yeah, it will work, just at the sloooow sometimes, sub 1 megabyte per second speeds.

I want to see an <font color=blue>Ati Radeon 99999 Ultra Pro</font color=blue>, based on the <font color=red>AtiRage core</font color=red>. And people wonder how a <font color=purple>Geforce3</font color=purple> is better than a <font color=orange>Geforce4 Mx...</font color=orange>

Well, as my friend who tried to plug his new external USB 2.0 DVD burner into his USB 1.1 port found out, that's not always true. Instant BSOD, according to him.

You are supposed to plug in some USB devices while the computer is off, such as just about anything Atapi and some hard drives.

I'm pretty sure he tried restarting, but who knows, he's not exactly a computer genius. Anyway, after having a good laugh, I directed him to a USB 2.0 PCI card.

Yeah...you don't usually see BSOD's unless you are seriously screwing something up.
