So I was using my sony usb drive for creating a windows 7 usb bootable disk using Rufus(2.12).
During middle of the operation it stopped saying "ISO Extraction Failed" which in my case I think is wrong because I installed win7 from the same file just a few days before. Anyway, after the error my usb drive stopped working. It only shows like this as in picture http://. As you can see it only shows as A.
After looking in the internet, I tried to reassign volume labelto another letter which also did not work.
I also tried to to delete partition in disk management and creating new volume but it is not possible as you can it not showing any disk space in disk 1http://i63.tinypic.com/iyigzo.png[/IMG]]http://.
So my question s are:
Is the usb drive is corrupted? or there is any other method?
As per the question of the age of usb, it is only 3moths old..

any help appreciated.

I have had USB drives die on me, they just do their shelf and usage life is quite short, especially the cheap ones found 16gb for 4$.
if you look under hardware management of windows with usb plugged in, is that it has become RAW format. there are ways to recover this complicated doesn't always work, I found it easier to toss it in trash and get a new one (thankfully now all the hardwares I install at clients come with USB with manuals on them so I get new usb on a daily basis...lol
