Hi,
I have a gtx1080, running windows 10 with a 27 inch monitor. I just got a AOC E1659FWU usb monitor and I tried to set it as my secondary monitor.
When I boot into windows, both monitors show desktop for a few seconds and the usb monitor will go black screen. The main monitor (27" connected to gpu) will keep going on and off and the pc is not responsive until the usb monitor is completely undetectable from my display setting. After that, the main monitor works fine but the usb monitor just won't show anything even reconnecting usb.
I have installed displaylink driver and aoc monitor driver to latest version. Nothing works.
When the usb monitor stopped working, in Device manager, it shows
"Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)"
Any idea how to fix this?

Are you connecting it to a USB3 port?
USB2 ports do not have enough power to run this monitor without a powered hub.

yes. I have tried all 6 usb ports on my pc and they all gave me the same results. PC keeps connecting and disconnecting the usb monitor until it is completely not detected.

You have 6 USB 3 ports?

Not really. two usb 3 ports and the rest are usb 2.0.

Like I said, USB2 ports won't work because they don't have enough power to run the monitor.
Are you running Windows 10 Anniversary Update?
Display the version of Windows by typing Winver in the Search Box.

like i said, i tried all 6 ports including usb 3 ports. USB 3 ports won't work either.

What model motherboard do you have?

I am running windows 10 anniversary. and the displaylink i downloaded should be able to support it according to this link http://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/525125-displaylink-and-windows-10
I do feel the problem is with displaylink. When I boot into windows, the usb monitor shows a duplicate desktop just fine for a few seconds and when displaylink launches, the monitor immediately goes blank.

Updated bios to 3101. Same error.
Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible host controller driver date 7.15.2016
Asmedia USB root hub driver date 4.11.2016

connect the Y cable to the usb charging hub or connect the usb 3.0 through a powered hub?
