I have a known good, functional USB mouse. I have connected the mouse
to the USB 2.0 port on my Dell Latitude D800 and on the USB 2.0 port of
my Dell Inspiron 8600. Neither computer recognizes the mouse and the
mouse is currently not ussable with these 2 computers. Each computer is
running Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 2 installed. I have
run Dell Diagnostic software on the USB ports and everything checks out
fine. Plus I think it is unlikely that the USB ports on both computers
would fail at the same time.
I think the problem is either a driver conflict or perhaps some
settings are not correct. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
