[SOLVED] USB Ports not working

Hi,

I am trying to install OS X 10.2 from a official CD to my Powermac G4 from july 2000.
Once inside the installation all the USB ports doesn't seem to work, My mouse and keyboard don't respond. The keyboard's LED lights do turn on tho.

I have 10.4 installed on a HDD and put in this mac and that works just fine.

I don't know what the issue is but maybe some one out there does

Have you tried a wired mouse? The firmware may not be totally ready to go.

Sorry, to hear that. More than likely the logic board is done. Have experienced this situation on a MBP. You may be able to ad a PCI ad in USB card.

With a wireless mouse, does the red light come on on the underside of the mouse?

Well on OS X 10.4.11 the usb ports work fine! and via my apple display with ADC connector it works too, but not in the install of 10.2.

I think the install is not good for some reason, maybe I can get my hands on a 10.3 install disk so I can check if that works.

Right, sorry , no answer. Perhaps try doing clean install and then try again. Sometimes installs do not work.
