Usb to sata or something similar

Basically I keep having a problem with using a nas for all my drives.

Mainly with the dvd drives so I was thinking what if I left all the drives in the desktop but ran a usb from the main one and it goes to a sata and then a sata splitter for the drives

You are going to have to be more clear with what you are trying to do.
Are you running a USB cable from your main DVD drive?
What is a sata splitter? Are you trying to split the power?? There is no such thing as a sata data cable splitter. It is a serial device (Serial ATA) which means single data stream per cable as there is no device ID like old SCSI had.

Basically I was thinking of making a case to hold all the drives then put a psu in there to power the drives and have a usb run from the pc to the box and that goes to a splitter to connect all the drives to the computer

I want the main computer to be able to turn the drives on and off and open the dvd trays and it all to be in my computer rather creat a network letter drive. Also that’s 10gigabit vs 1
