USB3 to USB2.0

Is there a performance decrease when using a USB3-USB2 adapter for connecting to the motherboard? Seeing as this is a 20pin to 9pin.

It depends on what your connecting to it. For DATA rate their a difference for just a keyboard or something no not really.

Connecting a front panel usb3.0 port to the usb2.0 port on the motherboard will only give the performance of the usb2.0 for data rate 480Mbps (2.0) versus 4.8Gbps (3.0) Thanks for the information.
