[SOLVED] Use my old desktop's SATA HD on my laptop

So, I just found my old desktop on my basement, but unfortunately it turns on but shows no video at all. How do I connect the old HD to my laptop to access it via my laptop?
I don't mean only access the files, but browse the PC like it was when I last used it, check how I left the desktop, see the backgroud I used and so on. Could I do it somehow?

By the way, the PC turns on OK, all fans spins but all the ports aren't working, I have no VGA signal, and the all the USBs seems to deliver no power (the caps, num and scroll lock lights on my keyboard shines very dimly when I press their respective keys). If you could help me with this problem I would also appreciate.

could clone the hdd and run it as a VM on your laptop.

I'll seach about running it as a VM. Specs are: 4 GB RAM, Athlon II processor and ASRock N68-S motherboard.
