Hi all,

My a10 7850k recently stopped working and I have roughly 300 dollars to build a new computer. On craigslist, I found a used computer with an i7 960, msi x58a-gd45 motherboard, 12gb ddr3 ram, 1tb hard drive, some unknown xion cpu cooler and an n-wifi adapter. I'm going to buy this setup for 150 dollars. I then found a gtx 760 for 65 dollars. I only plan on gaming at 1080p, would this setup work well for that? The whole setup would come to roughly 215 dollars. I would later replace the PSU and case, and the cpu/motherboard when zen comes out. Would this setup perform better at gaming than my a10 7850k? Any thoughts/opinions are welcome. Thanks for the advice!

Solution
before you buy a replacment system make sure your old parts are not under rma replacment. most intel and amd cpu have 3 year warranties. most mb have 2-3 year warranties and a lot of power supplys have 3-5 year warranties. if the old pc not turning on. take out the power supply see if the green wire trick turns it on. if not rma it or replace it first.
your desad cpu is going to be a better gaming base. if not pick up a g3258 and a h81/h97 micro atx mb. reuse your ddr3 ram and any other parts you can. the cpu will be 50.00 and the mb will be 40-60. leave you some room for a gaming gpu.
