Used CmosPwd, now BIOS won't start

Hi,

I have recently been trying to make a home storage server using FreeNAS, but I needed to be able to boot from a flash drive. So, I tried to go into BIOS to change the boot order but it said it needed a password, which I didn't know. After trying various backdoor passwords, I decided to use CmosPwd to clear the Bios settings, including (hopefully) the password. I installed the program and ran the commands in command prompt, which told me the cmos had been cleared. I rebooted my system, only to find that all I had was a black screen and the fans running quite loudly - it wasn't just Windows that didn't boot, it looks like BIOS didn't either.

Does anyone know a) What is causing the problem and b) How to fix it?

The bios is an American MegaTrends one.

Thanks in advance.

The fact is that if you weren't trying to bypass the password on this system (that we have no way of verifying is actually yours) you wouldn't be asking for help. Still if the bios is gone, you'd get the same answer - call the manufacturer.
We can't help you with password issues, and seeing how you tried to bypass the password on your own, and killed the system, I don't feel like we should be helping you gain access to a system that may not actually be yours.

Contact the manufacturer.

Hi,

Thank you for the quick reply, and I appreciate that you have no proof that the system is actually mine. However, it has gone past a password issue now as I have realised that it was stupid to try and clear it and I am merely trying to fix the problems that that has caused. But, if you feel for whatever reason that you should not help me, then don't.
