I recently did a clean install of Windows 10. Going through all the settings, I realized my monitor had reverted to 60hz refresh. I tried to bring it back up to the 73 I was getting with W7 but can't do it. The highest I am getting is 66....Using Nvidia control panel on an LG monitor that advertises 75hz.

Any thoughts why it's being held back? or what I can do to get it a touch higher?

Solution
I've looked at the LG web sites for various countries for the 27MP58VQ-P and only some countries show that model as having a 75 Hz refresh rate at 1920 x 1080.

I looked at the Canadian site and there is no mention of 1920 x 1080 @ 75Hz and even the users manual shows a maximum of 1920 x 1080 @ 60 Hz.

On the American site they do mention a maximum of 1920 x 1080 @ 75 Hz.

The specs supported may depend on where in the world you live or where you purchased the monitor from. The product looks like it's undergoing a revision and some countries will get the newer product before others.
Did you install the latest 27MP58 Win10 driver?

What I've noticed in the monitor device driver is that the monitor's HDMI input port is limited to a maximum of 61 Hz refresh rate. The monitor's VGA and DVI-D input ports are limited to a maximum of 75 Hz refresh rate.

Thanks for the response.

I had updated the drivers in the Windows utility but not off the LG website....so now I've done that.

I am using the DVI-D cable.

I was able to get it up to 70hz. Which, I am content with but still wondering if there is a solution to getting it up to the full 75.

Edit: My original post was wrong. I was getting 66hz not 68hz. I changed the headline/text.

In the NVIDIA Control Panel you can create and test a custom resolution and refresh rate for your monitor before saving it for use.

Here's an example of how I created a 75Hz one for my 2560x1600, 60Hz IPS panel:

That is actually how I have been doing it. Thanks for putting together a detailed how-to, though.

I have managed to get to 71 using this method.

Like I said, I'm content but it's weird because the monitor is advertised as running at 75 so....

Actually no.....

720 X 400 70 Hz
640 X 480 60 Hz
640 X 480 75 Hz
800 X 600 60 Hz
800 X 600 75 Hz
1024 X 768 60 Hz
1024 X 768 75 Hz
1280 X 720 60 Hz
1152 X 864 75 Hz
1280 X 800 60 Hz
1440 X 900 60 Hz
1280 X 1024 60 Hz
1280 X 1024 75 Hz
1600 X 900 60 Hz
1400 X 1050 60 Hz
1680 X 1050 60 Hz
1920 X 1080 60 Hz

It seems in order to get the faster refresh rate it wants me to lower the resolution...?

That seems counter intuitive. (or misleading advertising.)

I am in the states, so, I would assume it is an American one.

Does your monitor's user manual show that it supports 1920 x 1080 @ 75 Hz? Your vendor may have sold you old stock.
