Used Ubisoft games on PC

I just bought an used Assassin's Creed Revelations for PC, but after installation I tried to play it, but it just keeps asking for the activation code. Is there any way to play the single player mode without the code or do I now own an useless disc and a piece of plastic?

The activation code is to ensure that you didn't pirate the game, so yes, you'll need the activation code to validate that you own it. If it was from a friend, you may have to ask them to borrow their UPlay account so you can log on and play it.

You typically can't buy a used PC game since the activation code for the game is tied to the account of whoever bought the game first.
