Using 8gb of ram while idling

Hi, guys my one year old computer is using 8gb of ram while doing literally nothing. I have no idea why and it's only been like this recently. Any ideas are welcome. The ram usage was validated by TaskManager and Afterburner.

You wouldn't happen to have two dozen tabs of google chrome open would you?

How many gigs are you running? use your take manager and have it show all processes and see what using all your ram. What OS do you have, could have something to do with it.

None at all when those tests were ran.

How many gigs are you running? use your take manager and have it show all processes and see what using all your ram. What OS do you have, could have something to do with it.

I have Windows 10 and I have 8gb of ram

You may not be doing anything, but what is the system doing? Indexing..and AV scan maybe...

It becomes kind of slow because I have a hard drive and all the ram is being used by a black hole.

So I have around 6gb of ram that is being used, but is not being accounted for in Task Manger. Another thing is that "system" is apparently only using 500mb at the time of writing this which is ridiculously slow.
