I currently have a PC with an i7-3770k and Evga 670 FTW.
I am atm considering whether I should buy a 2000 series card or a 3000 series card. Having done some research, I understand that I would be throttled by my CPU if my monitor is at 1080p (which it currently is) but I will be pairing this purchase with a 2k monitor or 4k one (less likely).
What I'm wondering is if the ampere cards would even be compatible with my mobo. I've heard some things about how it'll use PCIe 4.0 tech which my mobo does not support.
If it's compatible, I'm willing to hold out till then. Otherwise, it might make sense to just get a 2070 super and just call it a day.
Also I'm not looking to completely rebuild my system since I'd like to wait for DRR5 to drop before overhauling my CPU/mobo.
Relevant spec:
CPU: i7-3770k
Mobo: Asus P8Z77-V Pro
GPU: EVGA GTX 670 FTW
PSU: Corsair HX750
