So I have never used a old hard drive and installed it into a new computer. My plan was to buy a new ssd and install windows on it. Once I had that done I was going to install 2 older hdd from previous computers into the new computer. My question is: When I put the older hard drives in will I be given an option to wipe the drive clean? I don't care about the data on the older hard drives so I would prefer this option.

Solution
Install the OS with ONLY the SSD connected.
After, connect the HDD's and just ensure that they are not in the BIOS boot order.
You can delete the partitions in Disk Management, and format as needed.

When you plug them in, Windows will just say, ok, here they are. What happens at that point is entirely up to you. You can bring up the disk admin tools and repartition, or just reformat, or just manually delete all the files.

If I have ms office 2010 on one of the drives is it possible to transfer that over to the ssd? Im assuming that is not likely and that I would just need to buy the newest version of office.

Do you have the original install file? You can't just transfer it over.
