This is a direct duplicate of a question I asked on PCPartPicker. I'm not confident this is allowed in the guidelines; please let me know if it's not. I know there's a fair bit of overlap, but I wanted to get feedback about it from both groups.
Hi Guys!
I've been struggling a lot with the decision of which CPU and GPU I should get for my new computer. The purpose of said computer is 1440p60 video recording/editing/streaming low-mid-range games (Low end: Celeste, High End: Monster Hunter Rise), and I really don't care if it's on the highest settings... I'd be using Davinci Resolve for video editing.
With that in mind, I really want to know, will I be just fine using an intel CPU with an IGPU like the i5-12600k and Intel Quick Sync paired with a mid-range GPU like the Radeon 7700 XT, or is it necessary for me to get a high-end Nvidia GPU such as a 4060 TI, 4070, 4070 Super, etc ?
To make this blatantly clear, I'm not asking which will work better, I'm asking if the difference will be discernible enough at the quality I'm working at and games I'd be playing for it to actually matter.
Actually, let's add an extra caveat on, how would the answer change depending on if I chose to record videos in HEVC vs AV1?
